Watercolor Journey: Tips et Astuces

The world of watercolor painting is captivating, offering a unique blend of control and serendipity. For me, it all began with a love for drawing, tracing the iconic characters of Disney, Tintin, and others. I was immediately captivated by the nuanced tones that watercolor provides. It’s a technique that continues to surprise and challenge.

One of the first things Jacques Martin taught me was the importance of perspective and color. Perspective is critical to create depth and realism, while a well-considered color palette sets the mood and evokes emotion. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different color combinations and to embrace the happy accidents that often occur.

Rediscovering watercolor in 2017 felt like returning to a long lost friend. Since then, I have dedicated myself to honing my skills by attending workshops with renowned watercolor artists. I value these experiences immensely, as they provide insights into different approaches and techniques. Currently, I am working to structure my basis.

Watercolor is more than just a technique; it’s a form of expression, a language spoken through colors and delicate washes. It’s a way to escape and explore, inviting us on a journey into the unknown. I hope that my work inspires others to embrace the beauty and magic of watercolor and to embark on their own creative adventures.
